A 2019 study by Lifeway Research found that 66% of American young adults who regularly attended church for at least a year as teenagers reported dropping out for at least a year between ages 18 and 22. This dropout rate increased with age: 69% attended church at age 17, decreasing to 58% at age 18, and 40% at age 19. It’s safe to say that the students of this generation are running full speed away from the church. We recognize this answer and seek to meet students wherever they are in the spiritual journey wherever that may be.
Our desire is to engage students and expose them to the Gospel and come alongside them as they grow in obedience and to align themselves with God’s purpose to glorify Him and expand His Kingdom. As a part of our mission, we want to come alongside parents/guardians to encourage their students in their walk with Christ. The goal of Fairview Student Ministry is not to give another alternative for social gatherings or to replace church rather we seek to connect students to the local body. We want to parter with parents to equip and provide them with resources in order to train up their student to love the Lord wholeheartedly and serve Him faithfully.
